Spent Saturday evening at crofters with 36 other relatives and friends, for our boys 50th birthday, excellent, most convivial, the food was above the usual, and the staff although possibly casual Saturday staff, we're efficient and friendly, and Karen deserves especial mention. We would recommend Crofters above many other pub/restaurants. Its a must go to place.
I was really taken aback as soon as I walked in, by the beautiful decor. I visited for a late lunch in the afternoon, so we had a choice of places to sit. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and the food was very good - the biggest hand cut chips I have ever seen, but well cooked, and the desert (i had passion fruit cheesecake) was good too. I imagine the place looks quite different in the evening - busier and buzzier, but I would definitely recommend this place for an (intimate) lunch.
Wonderful, eclectic, atmospheric venue, for intimate dining as well as groups. Imaginative menu beautifully cooked and presented, plus a separate vegetarian menu - excellent! Had our work Christmas dinner there, and eat there fairly regularly - always great. Terrific traditional Sunday lunch served by super, professional staff - and not as expensive as some of the newer restaurants springing up in Witham.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant was a little dimly lit for my taste but the ambience was good. Few cobwebs that needed tending to, but overall did a great job of achieving the rustic look.Food was really very nice and the bistro menu was very well priced. I feel like something could be done to broaden the appeal of the menu definitely not enough to choose from is you have a more reserved palate.Would happily go back.
